Heptapleurum arboricolum ‘Super Dwarf’
“Root over rock” is popular style in bonsai that draws your attention. In this class we are using Super Dwarf Arboricola, sometimes better known as schefflera. “Super Dwarf” has a much smaller leaf than the standard Arboricola making it more in-scale for bonsai. In general it’s a plant with broad leaves and is considered simple to grow under any conditions. Although it’s a rapid-growing plant that lends itself well to the style.
A nice feature of the class is that, once you get the technique down, most other trees can be done the same way.
