A very sought after juniper for it's needle like foliage. Slower growing than J. Procumbens but just as hardy. The workshop will include all needed materials (plant, pot, soil, etc) to complete the tree.
Shimpaku junipers shouldn't be considered as house plants and prefer to be grown outdoors. More details are given during the workshop.
Shimpaku juniper lends itself to practically any style in bonsai making it an easy tree for the beginner or novice to work on. Pruning, and wiring are discussed in the workshop encouraging students to attempt both.
Learning the rules for potting the tree is the last step which will finish the process. Post-care is discussed along with any follow up questions before the tree is taken home after the workshop.
5-8 year old tree is used along with a ceramic bonsai pot.
